Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will remain supported until October 14, 2025. This applies to both Home and Pro versions of Windows 10. After this date, you’ll still be able to use the software, but you won’t get any more security updates. There also won’t be any new features added to the software.
Windows 11 is gradually gaining ground and replacing Windows 10. Since 2019, the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office is becoming more popular and is now the default for new installations.
To support the changing Microsoft Office environment, SBS offers both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of our products.
Unfortunately, Microsoft has made it so the 64-bit and the 32-bit versions of our products are not interchangeable. The 64-bit version must be run on a 64-bit installation of Microsoft Office / Access and the 32-bit version must be run on a 32-bit installation of Microsoft Office / Access.
For customers that are making a 100% cut over to the 64-bit version, SBS can upgrade your existing 32-bit version to the 64-bit version. 64-bit product upgrades are simple, inexpensive, and usually take 24-48 hours.
The 64-bit upgrade may be purchased by clicking here.
For customers that maintain both 32 and 64-bit installations, we offer the SQL version of our product is the solution. The SQL version can have both a 32-bit and a 64-bit front end sharing the back-end data. In this way 32-bit users can run the 32-bit program and 64-bit users can simultaneously run the 64-bit program.
The SQL upgrade has several other benefits including improved security and reliability. Click here for more information.
