General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

This month, Europe’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will replace the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive. It ushers in a new era, unifying data protection rules across Europe, strengthening the rights of EU citizens and placing new obligations on all organizations that offer goods and services online.

In the event you receive an invoice from us, it may have links to QuickBooks payment options (Credit card or ACH).  QuickBooks is committed to the new regulations. From the QuickBooks website:

“Our mission is to power prosperity around the world by unlocking the power of data. When you provide us with your data, we know you put your trust in us. While we’re working to meet our specific GDPR requirements, our Data Stewardship Principles have successfully served small businesses, accountants and the self-employed for many years. With GDPR, we’ll continue to work to earn your trust.”

Sunday business systems also uses Digital River for credit card payments. Digital River is also highly committed to complying with the new regulations. From the Digital River website:

“Digital River prides itself on competing aggressively while holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards, including conduct of our data handling practices. While many businesses are still unaware of the impact the GDPR will have on their business, dedicated teams at Digital River have been preparing to ensure GDPR readiness by May 2018.”
