“Query is corrupt” error

Problem:  Beginning 11/12/2019, certain features and functions in SBS Products may result in an error containing the phrase
“Query ‘ [Query name]‘ is corrupt”. 

This issue impacts all supported builds of Access. 

This is an error caused by a recent Microsoft Office update and is documented in the following Office Support article. Despite the error message, there is no corrupt query, database corruption, or programming bug in the SBS product. The error is a result of a Microsoft Office release.

The issue was introduced on November 12, 2019 via the following patch updates for MSI builds:

Office 2010: Description of the security update for Office 2010: November 12, 2019 (KB4484127)

Office 2013: Description of the security update for Office 2013: November 12, 2019 (KB4484119)

Office 2016: Description of the security update for Office 2016: November 12, 2019 (KB4484113)

Office 2016: November 12, 2019, update for Office 2016 (KB3085368)

To fix the issue, run Microsoft Office updates (subject to the release dates below).
